Abstract David Hyun, son of Reverend Soon Hyun, was the first ever-Korean American architect and a self-described essayist. He is best known for his 1978 design of the Japanese Village Plaza in downtown Los Angeles, as part of a revitalization of Little Tokyo, and his dedication to documenting his father's work in the Korean Independence movement of 1919. This collection contains eighteen 1/4" reel audio tapes recorded by Kyeng Bo Kim (1883-1976) beginning around the late 1950s. The tapes have not been digitized, but appear to include recording of oral histories, family, business, and social events, and songs. There are also 43 color slide transparencies with images of the Kim family and awards and plaques.

The records of Olive View Hospital and Medical Center document daily life and important events at Olive View since its founding in the early twentieth century and also the ideological and structural changes the institution underwent. The collection also has significant scientific and medical materials that capture laboratory practices and scientific literature regarding the study and curing of tuberculosis, including numerous works from Emil Bogen.
